Next Release: Authenticated Global Database 2027
The 2027 release of the Global Heat Flow Database, for the first time in recent decades, will be authenticated. As a result of a 5-year international joint community effort (ihfc-iugg.org), the database will be assessed and fully quality-controlled. It will encompasses more data records from more data locations sourced from more than 2,000 publications. All data entries will have assigned IHFC quality codes and full meta data records.

Latest Release: Global Database 2024
The 2024 release of the Global Heat Flow Database encompasses 91,182 data points sourced from 1,586 publications, covering both continental (54,553 points) and oceanic (36,629 points) domains. This release includes quality assessments adhering to the IHFC quality codes.

Quality Assurance
The database is undergoing continuous revision to enhance data quality and structure. The 2024 release introduces quality score evaluations based on the IHFC quality codes. In the 2024 release, 49% of the data has been reassessed. For data submission, users are encouraged to consult the submission guidelines. For data pending evaluation and assessment, users are encouraged to consult the original references to assess data quality independently.
